Two New Sizes of Smart Battery Now Available
Since debuting our Smart Battery system in 2021, Redback Technologies has gone from strength to strength. This year saw company-wide rebranding, the introduction of our first Solar Inverter and we’re now excited to showcase two more Smart Battery options with even more storage capacity, allowing homes of all sizes to benefit from battery storage. Fully accredited by Australia’s Clean Energy Council after being tested to meet the electrical safety and quality standards of their Battery Assurance Program, Redback’s Smart Batteries are now available in 7.2kWh, 9.6kWh and 14.2kWh capacities, available for installation nationwide.
All three sizes of Redback’s Smart Battery are actively designed to withstand Australia’s harsh weather conditions and are compatible with most modern solar systems – so there’s no need to replace your existing hardware. Plus, every Redback system comes with access to our easy-to-use monitoring portal and app – meaning you can not only see how much electricity your roof is producing and how much your battery is storing but also how much power you’re exporting back to the grid for credits or money.
Yet, one of the biggest benefits of installing a home battery is the ability to keep the power on during power outages. With all three sizes of Redback Smart Battery, backup power comes as standard, allowing you to use the power stored in your home batteries to power the key appliances in your home that you selected during installation. This means that when the grid goes down, the backup circuit will kick in automatically as long as you have battery power available.
With over 3 million Australian homes already using rooftop solar panels, adding a battery to upgrade your rooftop solar enables you to not only maximise your home’s self-sufficiency by utilising more of your own, self-generated energy but also save money on your electricity bills by storing excess solar power you generate during the day instead of buying from the grid when the sun is down.
